Infinite Island Power brings together various renewable energy sources (solar, wind, clean gas generators) and optimizes their electrical power generation through the Power Island Control System (PICS) and integrated web-enabled software.  Today’s energy pricing & regulation trends favour the buildout of these types of distributed power systems, especially as technology innovations keep improving the competitive economics.  As well the public is demanding technologies that factor in the sometimes immense related costs of waste and emissions of fossil fuel processes.

By constantly updating its control software to account for these important market shifts Infinite Island is striving to automate, simplify and optimize the customer’s take of up of new cleaner energy systems. Because,  let’s face it, flex fuel, grid tie, clean diesel, bio diesel, hydrogen, biomass, landfill methane… it makes sense to have a software that can calculate what really makes sense.  We use locally available renewable energy to supplement or replace the overtaxed power grid with new, low carbon, low NOx sources of electricity generation.  IIP is positioned to provide its power systems within the expanding distributed-generation, off-grid, and plug-in vehicle markets.

Power When & Where Needed

Using advanced chip-enabled control technology, Infinite Island Power can accommodate multiple clean power settings via its modular configuration.  The electrical power generated by the Power Island is either put to immediate use, to storage, to the electrical grid, or a combination of the above depending on the load profile and the energy pricing regime in force at the installation location, factoring in peak pricing, fuel pricing, feed in tariffs and demand response conditions. Infinite Island Power systems are designed to supplement Hydro infrastructure by providing temporary clean power as well as in fixed installations to provide baseload and grid back up solutions via its advanced controllable grid-tie inverter technology.  This means added security against power outages or brownouts in power critical setting requirements such as in the food industry, data centers and public events.

History

The idea for Infinite Island stemmed in part from members of the group working together to lessen the carbon footprint at the Osheaga Festival of Music and Art in 2006.  In 2009 Infinite Island Power – Ile Infinie was formed to take forward the vision of introducing the advanced renewable energy systems Infinite Island and its partners produce via high profile community installations.  By co-producing green events with its clients and sponsors Infinite Island has committed to carrying out a series of high profile demonstrations, using this platform to help forge a practical path to market for its efficient and less polluting technologies.   Further deployments of lnfinite Island technology will be unveiled at the 2011 editions of Ohseaga Music Festival and Heavy MTL . Both events take place at Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal.
